Southgate MP David Burrowes and his dog Cholmeley took third spot at the Westminster Dog of the Year award
Southgate MP David Burrowes has reached the podium in the dog-eat-dog world of canine competition for a second successive year.
Mr Burrowes and his two-year-old Labrador Cholmeley finished third at the Westminster Dog of the Year competition on Thursday, October 10.
Judges from the Kennel Club and Dogs Trust were impressed by the pair's devoted friendship and commitment to canine issues in their constituency.
However, this dog was not to have its day as pipped to top spot by Dewsbury MP Simon Reevell with his dog Harry and Rutland and Melton MP Alan Duncan with his dog Noodle claiming top spot.
The Southgate MP said: “Both myself and Cholmeley were delighted to not only make it into Hansard but onto the podium by coming in third. We both had great fun and the event was a fantastic opportunity to promote responsible dog ownership.”
