A 19-year-old man has been arrested after his car collided with a bike outside a primary school, leaving the motorcyclist in a critical condition
A man has handed himself in to police after a hit and run accident that left a motorcyclist in hospital.
The 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of two driving offences after his car collided with a motorcyclist outside George Spicer Primary School in Southbury Road, Enfield on Thursday.
The road was closed and there was gridlock in Enfield Town as paramedics treated a 37-year-old man for chest injuries before he was airlifted to Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel, east London.
After turning himself in on Friday, the driver was charged with failing to stop at the scene of an accident and driving without insurance.
He has been bailed and is due to appear at a north London police station on November 27.
The motorcyclist is currently in a critical but stable condition.
