More jobs created as Ponders End Poundland opens
Staff nervous about their first day on the checkouts at a new discount shop shouldn't have had too much difficulty remembering the prices when it opened last week.
The 25 new staff at Poundland's new branch at 67 High Street, Ponders End, began working in earnest when the shop opened on September 28.
The retailer has more than 450 stores in the UK and sells a wide range of household items for just £1.
Poundland’s trading director Richard Lancaster said: “We are delighted to bring our unique proposition to Ponders End.
“Poundland offers amazing value on top branded products to over 4.5 million customers every week. The £1 price hasn’t changed since we opened our first store 22 years ago. Our current customers love us and we are sure the Ponders End shoppers will too.”
