A decision on the future of Chase Farm Hospital's accident and emergency and maternity wards will be made tomorrow
The future of Chase Farm hospital’s accident and emergency and maternity wards will be decided tomorrow morning.
The ten-year battle to save the two wards at the hospital in The Ridgeway, Enfield, will reach its conclusion when Enfield’s clinical commissioning group (CCG) makes a decision on their future.
Protesters are expected to attend a meeting at Underhill Stadium in Westcombe Drive, Barnet, at 9am.
Campaign groups have fought to protect the wards but were dealt a hammer blow when the Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals NHS trust gave the all clear for the A&E and maternity wards to be closed on September 16.
Services will move to Barnet Hospital, in Wellhouse Lane, Barnet, and North Middlesex Hospital in Sterling Way, Edmonton, which will expand to accommodate more patients. The final date for the potential closure has yet to be finalised, but is expected to be sometime in November.
