Bush Hill Park and Enfield Playing Fields have had thir entertainment licences approved despite a number of objections
Despite significant opposition, two more parks have been approved to hold entertainment events until late in the evening.
Bush Hill Park and Enfield playing fields have been granted enterainments licenses alongside 15 other Enfield parks able to host live music, films and many other events on any day of the year until 11pm.
The licences were granted on Wednesday, September 18, by an Enfield Borough Council sub-committee, despite Bush Hill Park receiving 86 objection letters and just one in favour with Enfield playing fields receiving six objections.
The majority of complaints cited noise disturbances, excess traffic and increase in anti-social behaviour as the fundamental reasons for rejecting the proposal for Bush Hill Park.
Linda Farquharson of Harman Road, Enfield, was among objectors. She wrote: "The park is presently peaceful and that events in the park could destroy the local family atmosphere and create a culture of noise.”
