Enfield teenager Katie Barrett returned to her family
A missing Enfield teenager has been found after going missing eight days ago.
The search for 17-year-old Katie Barrett, of Palmers Green, went national on social media websiteFacebook over the past week with more than 120,000 people sharing a photo and appeal to find the teenage girl and many thousands posting pictures of the lost girl on other media platforms.
The photo that went viral was posted by Katie’s mother, Katrina Barrett, with the caption: “This is our beautiful 17-year-old daughter Katie Barrett, she has not been in contact with us or friends since Monday 2nd September. The last message she sent to me stated she was in East London getting pictures for her art project. It's not like her to be out of touch for so long and we are all very worried. If anyone has heard from her and has any information please contact us or Enfield Police on 101.”
The missing teenager was then spotted in Tottenham Court Road with a middle aged man outside a Boots chemist on Sunday, September 8 at 7.20pm but still remained missing.
Having not been in contact with her family since Monday, September 2, when she was in East London collecting pictures for an art project, Ms Barrett was found yesterday evening in Euston, London, and has returned to her family.
