New Morrisons supermarket in Enfield announces opening date
Morrisons has announced when it will open its new 'local' supermarket in Enfield Town high street.
The supermarket replacing the former HMV, which stood in the high street for more than 30 years, will open on Monday, September 9, at 9am, creating 20 new jobs in the town.
Welcomed by shop owners in the town centre, the supermarket will be opened by Mayor of Enfield Anwar Chaudhury and chairman of the trustees for The Old Enfield Charitable Trust, Susan Attowod.
Store manager Preeti Sandhu is revelling in the new supermarket coming to the area.
She said: “We can’t wait to open on Monday and I’m sure customers will love the store. We’ve been out to introduce ourselves to the local community and I’m pleased that Sue and Chaudhury, two prominent members of Enfield, will join us on Monday to officially cut the ribbon.
"We’ll also have a community noticeboard inside the store, which we’d encourage customers and other local businesses to use to help promote local events. We hope shoppers will come in and give us a try.”
