A centre in Enfield will be looking to combat cyber-bullying with a parents awareness event this week.
The Dugdale Centre in London Road, Enfield will be hosting an enlightening session for parents about the dangers of their children using social media and how to prevent their children bullying online or being bullied.
From 9.30am on Friday, parents can listen to talks about the effects of cyber-bullying, facts and figures of those affected by bullying online, how to control the use of social media in the home and avoid making any mistakes when confronting children about the subject.
The event is being co-hosted by Enfield community group Love your Door Step and business platform Loving Social Media.
According to statistics from the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC), 38 per cent of children in the UK were affected by cyber bullying in 2013, and 31,599 children called ChildLine in 2011/2012 about the problem.
