Supermarket chooses local charity for second year running
A hospice has cause for celebration after a supermarket chose it as its official charity for a second year running.
Sainsbury’s in Florey Square, Winchmore Hill, will be aiming to surpass last year’s grand total for the North London Hospice.
Bucket collections, cake sales, an in-store cycle and rowing challenge were among the ways in which the store raised more than £3,600.
Staff at the store voted to support the hospice again and have already raised £477 during a fun day.
Store manager David Dawson said: “Being located so close to the hospice’s site in Winchmore Hill, North London Hospice is well known in the local community and amongst our shoppers.
“We are extremely proud to be offering support and raising awareness for a great cause.”
Community fundraiser Rose Tyler said: “We’re really excited to be partnering Sainsbury’s Highlands Village over the next 12 months and would like to thank the staff for choosing us.
“We are looking forward to planning lots of activities together in the coming weeks and we hope customers will support the fundraising efforts.”
