Charity calls upon Enfield volunteers to help raise money
A charity is on the hunt for volunteers in Enfield to collect money at a supermarket.
The helpers are needed by Diabetes UK to raise money for their charity on The Big Collection weekend commencing Friday, October 4.
The Big Collection weekend is aiming to raise £400,000 to support people living with diabetes and the Ponders End Tesco in High Street, Enfield is in need of volunteers to reach this target.
Last year’s statistics revealed that 15,065 people with diabetes are living in the borough. There are also an estimated 3,704 people in Enfield with Type 2 diabetes who have not yet been diagnosed.
Roz Rosenblatt, Diabetes UK London Regional Manager, said: “Volunteers will be making a real difference to people with diabetes or those at risk of developing it. We are really keen to hear from people in Enfield who would like to join us.”
