Bouncy castles, a fun fair, petting zoo and an international food marquee were just some of the attractions at a festival to celebrate the end of Ramadan.

This year’s Eid 4 All Festival, which was held yesterday at the Headstone Manor Recreation Ground, in Pinner View, was organised by the borough’s Muslin community.

Alim Shaikh, the headteacher at Harrow Primary School, was one of the organisers of the event, which is in its third year and welcomed more than 2,000 people last summer.

He said: “It’s really great to see so many people here and the community has always been very supportive of what we are trying to do.

“The fair gets bigger and bigger every year, everyone involved in it is has volunteered their time and any profit we make goes to charity.

“This fair is to share the celebration of Ramadan and Eid with the whole community and we always want people for all backgrounds to come along.”

Seven-year-old Yasmin Al-Awadi was one of hundreds of children who attended the event.

She said: “I love the fair, it’s really fun.

“I didn’t fast but I had a really good Eid and I got lots of presents.”

Her mother Noorah Riyadh, who was visiting family in Harrow, said the children have loved their time at the festival.

She said: “It has been really lovely because of the great community feel and the kids have really enjoyed themselves.

“This is our first time at the festival but we are really impressed.

“Eid was really good this year because it was spent with family and there was lots of food and chocolates.”
