Fresh from their success at Glastonbury last month, US rock band Smashing Pumpkins will be playing at the Wembley Arena next week as part of their European tour.

The band is stopping in London as part of their UK-wide tour, following the release of their eighth studio album Oceania last year.

The only remaining original member of the band, Billy Corgan, recorded the album in his private studio in Chicago with his bandmates’ guitarist Jeff Schroeder, drummer Mike Byrne, and bassist and vocalist Nicole Fiorentino.

Oceania is actually ‘an album within an album’, a continuation of their 44-song concept album Teargarden By Kaleidyscope.

Their set will contain material from their latest album as well as their back catalogue of hits. The band will be using new video technology during their performance to create a unique experience.

Best known for their 1993 album Siamese Dream, the four-piece from Chicago has sold more 30 million albums worldwide.

Support acts at their Wembley date will be Ash from Northern Ireland and Beware of Darkness from California.
