Two more men have been arrested in connection with the murder of a man whose body was discovered near bins in Enfield.

The body of a 55-year-old man was found in the bin area at the corner of Keats Close and Scotland Green Road at approximately 8.10am on Thursday.

Police believe they know the identity of the deceased but await formal identification. A post-mortem gave the cause of death as multiple chest injuries.

A 56-year-old man and a 45-year-old woman were arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to a north London police station.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment regarding a pre-existing condition and will be interviewed when he is discharged while the woman has been released with no further action.

At approximately 9am yesterday, a 29-year-old man and a 40-year-old man were also arrested on suspicion of murder and taken to separate north London police stations where they remain in custody.

Det Chief Insp Sheila Stewart said: "We are keen to trace any witnesses to an altercation which is believed to have taken place between 6pm and 8pm in Keats Close on Wednesday May 29.”
