A school in Enfield received a visit from a life-sized rag doll to encourage children to be eco-friendly and walk to school.

The students of George Spicer Primary School, in Southbury Road, welcomed Lalaloopsy, from Toy’s ‘R’ Us, as part of their annual campaign to keep them healthy and roads less congested.

Pupils made posters which they presented during their morning assembly and were allowed to wear any kind of socks and shoes for the day.

Ngozi Omisakin, the school’s business manager, said the number children walking to school increases every year.

She said: “We keep a tally of how many children walk to school every morning and the number goes up every year which is really good.

“The kids had a really great day, they enjoyed themselves and Lalaloopsy was a complete surprise for them.

“We do this every year and this time it was really fun because all the children made some really wonderful posters and got involved with the spirit of it.”
