Youth athletes nominated for Enfield Borough Council's Celebrating Sports Awards 2013

Talented young athletes are on tenterhooks waiting to hear if they have been named the borough’s sport stars of the year.

Nominations for Enfield Borough Council's Celebrating Sports Awards 2013 have been counted and are ready to be announced tomorrow evening in Lea Valley High School in Bullsmoor.

The ten winners will be revealed in categories including young leader of the year, young disabled sports performer of the year, and coach of the year.

Councillor Bambos Charalambous, cabinet member for culture and leisure, said: “Sport can be enjoyed in so many ways. Competitive sport spurs us on, recreational sport is good exercise and volunteering as coaches, running clubs or working to promote an activity enlivens our borough.

"I am looking forward to congratulating all our sports people for their magnificent efforts.”
