Pupils planning to study sport at college were treated to a visit from Spurs player Scott Parker.
Nightingale Academy in Turin Road, Edmonton, welcomed the England international last week to look at the work of the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation at the school.
He also met a group of pupils hoping to take part in a Sports and Exercise Sciences BTEC course, which is one of the several educational programmes run by the foundation.
Speaking to pupils during the day Mr Parker said: “My advice to you would be to keep working hard.
“I played football with a lot of kids who were just as talented as me growing up but because they were not willing to work hard in everything they did, they perhaps didn’t achieve their full potential.
Speaking about the foundation the midfielder added: “It represents a great opportunity that you should make the most of as it could open up many doors within the sports industry.”
During his time at the school the midfielder had a tour of the its facilities and watched a football training session run by foundation coaches.
The foundation has a number of programmes running at Nightingale Academy such as help for pupils needing extra academic support.
