Firefighters called to secure shop roof in Enfield Town

Loose tiles and concrete above a shop in Enfield Town sparked a call to the emergency services this afternoon.

Five firefighters were called just before 1.20pm to secure the rubble on the roof of the empty shop in Church Street, which is being renovated.

Police were alerted at approximately 2.20pm to redirect traffic towards Little Park Gardens while firefighters used a hoist to clear the loose masonry.

Firefighters left the scene just before 4.20pm, and Church Street has since reopened.

No one was injured.
