A vast protest banner opposing major development plans around North Circular Road has appeared.

The sign, put up on a railing in Bowes Road, reads 'Notting Hill Housing Trust - destroying our local community'.

The banner, near Arnos Grove Tube station, appears to make a stand against Notting Hill Housing Trust’s plans to build 302 homes in the area.

The Enfield Independent is waiting for a comment from Notting Hill Housing about whether it plans to remove the banner.

So what, exactly, do the residents want? Leave the boarded up houses that line the North Circular as they are, doing no good whatsoever? I would have thought that extra housing is exactly what is needed.

Hi. Well the banner has gone. Most residents are really pleased with the way Notting Hill has cleaned up the area, got rid of squatters and are going to be building new homes soon. Enhancing the community.

This article is basically hot air. Where are the comments from the members of the local community who are supposed to be opposed to this? A really bad piece of journalism with no depth or substance whasoever.

who do you know can send comments to sites during working day pr people thats who looks as if they are no longer commenting after all that. a really good piece of objective public interest journalism three cheers independent stop notting hill destroying trees will be demonstrating outside civic centre prior to planning commitee 26/3/13 notting hill destroying the last trees left is on agenda
