Reading relay through Enfield to celebrate World Book Day

Pupils got into the spirit of World Book Day by taking part in a mass reading relay.

Dressed as their favourite book characters, children from Year 3 and Year 4 read chapters from David Walliams’ book Ratburger in libraries across the borough on Thursday, starting from Bullsmoor Library.

Pupils from Raynham Primary School, Latymer All Saints Church of England Primary School, Cartherhatch Junior School, Honilands Primary School, DeBohun Primary School and St George's Church of England School got involved.

Councillor Bambos Charalambous, cabinet member for culture and leisure, said: “World Book Day is an important day in the calendar for schools and libraries as it gets young people to think about turning off their televisions putting aside their video games and picking up a book instead.”
