Severe delays are affecting journeys on the Piccadilly Line after a stray wire was discovered on the track.

Firefighters an were called to Arnos Grove and Bounds Green tube stations following reports of burning smells.

The line was suspended between Wood Green and Cockfosters tube stations from 11am while firefighters and emergency engineers from Transport for London investigated.

The wire was found at Arnos Grove tube station, and the service reopened at approximately 11.30am.

Tickets are being accepted on buses and First Capital Connect Great Northern services until delays are over.
