Bogus workmen steal pensioner's wallet in Enfield Lock
5:30pm Friday 22nd February 2013 in News By Hermione Wright
Police are hunting two con artists who stole a pensioner’s wallet when posing as workmen.
The pair tricked a 76-year-old man living in Uckfield Road, Enfield Lock, into believing they were carrying out water works in the area.
The victim let the bogus workers into his home at approximately 9am on Monday, who checked pipes in his kitchen.
Soon after they left, the pensioner realised his wallet had been stolen.
The suspects are described as Asian and aged between 20 and 30 years old.
Police are reminding people to treat every stranger with caution and refuse to let anyone inside if they are not convinced of their identity.
