More than 100 people from the Bangladeshi community have joined together for a celebration of their mother language.
Members of the Enfield Bangladesh Welfare Association (EBWA) met for the groups 'Ekushey February' event last night to celebrate the Bengali Language Movement.
The evening in included poems, songs, video presentations and ended with the traditional 'Prabhat Feri' in which people lay flowers at a monument called Shahid Minar at a minute past midnight.
The event, which took place in Ponders End, was just one of hundreds taking place at the same time across the country.
