People in Enfield called to sign up to new scheme to help lower fuel bills

A new scheme has been launched to help people reduce their fuel bills by switching energy provider.
Enfield Borough Council has signed up with 17 other councils as part of the Big London Energy Switch, which aims to help people from deprived areas.
People are being urged to sign up to the scheme, in which a company will negotiate with energy companies to get cheaper gas and energy prices through bulk buying.
Cabinet member for environment Councillor Chris Bond said the council estimates people will be able to save between £150 and £200.
He added: “This fantastic scheme will help us tackle fuel poverty, improve the health of residents and go some way towards ending the sad circumstances where families have to choose between heating their houses in winter or buying food.”
