Strong support for Heron Hall Academy in Enfield run by Cuckoo Hall Academy Trust

Support for a new secondary school has been so strong that pupils are already being placed on a waiting list.

Heron Hall Academy is expected to open in Enfield in September this year, although the site for the building is yet to be confirmed.

The school has space for 90 Year 7 students to start within three classes in September.

A six-week public consultation into the proposals for the school launched on the school’s website yesterday.

The school will be part of the of the Cuckoo Hall Academy Trust (CHAT) group of academies, which comprises Cuckoo Hall, Woodpecker Hall and Kingfisher Hall schools in Edmonton.

Patricia Sowter, executive headteacher of Cuckoo Hall Academies Trust, said: “I hope that parents and others living locally will take the time to look at our consultation materials and share their views on the proposal.

“We are determined to use our experience and skills to create a new, high-performing secondary.”

A booklet informing parents about plans is being distributed in libraries and community centres, and further information is listed on the school's website.

Parents can meet representatives from CHAT at Cuckoo Hall Academy in Cuckoo Hall Lane on March 20 between 2pm and 6pm.

Anyone interested in attending, should telephone 020 8804 4126 to book.
