Extra cash to help cover heating bills will be available for people in need.
The Government is paying an extra £25 Cold Weather Payment to people receiving Jobseeker's Allowance, income-related Employment and Support Allowance or a Pension Credit.
The additional payment is triggered in areas of the borough where the temperature has remained at or below freezing for seven days running.
If a person is eligible, they should automatically receive the money.
Edmonton MP Andy Love said he hopes the payment will “spread a little warmth” amongst the snow and ice.
