Winchmore Hill Police Station would close if current plans are passed
Police chiefs will come to Enfield tonight to discuss plans for the future of the force.
The Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime, Stephen Greenhalgh and Assistant Commissioner for Territorial Policing, Simon Byrne, will visit the Civic Centre in Enfield Town to speak about the Mayor of London’s police and crime plan.
The meeting will be a chance for the public to give their views about the draft plan, which was released on Wednesday and includes proposals to close Southgate Police Station and Winchmore Hill Police Station.
The mayor also intends to employ 609 police officers in Enfield by 2015 – 14 more than patrolled the borough in 2010.
The meeting starts in Silver Street at 8pm.
