Organisers hope a hall will be full to the rafters next week during a new African drumming and dancing workshop.

The free one-hour weekly workshops will kick off at the community hall in Enfield Island Village on Monday from 6.30pm.

Village community development co-ordinator Martine Eni said an African-themed drumming day was so successful last year that organisers decided to make it a regular event.

With enough space for 115 people of any age group, she hopes the sessions in the Island Centre Way hall will be well attended.

She said: “When we did the African day before, there were old and young people sitting down together.

"It was so successful, everyone enjoyed it – they wouldn’t stop. It's a very good family activity."
