The Enfield Independent is trying to raise £5,000 to save the centre
Our readers have rallied together to raise another £150 for a struggling animal hospital.
To date, £4,300 in donations have been raised for the Wildlife Rescue and Ambulance Service in Trent Country Park.
In November, the Enfield Independent launched a campaign to raise £5,000 for the shelter which fell into financial difficulty when visitor numbers dropped due to the wet spring and summer.
Without the cash, Barry and June Smitherman, who run the centre, were concerned it could be forced to shut down in January.
The centre is home to the last wildlife animal hospital in London, and cares for more than 200 trapped, injured or abandoned animals at once.
