Enfield Town's streets were filled with a colourful procession
Hundreds of people lined the streets on Sunday to welcome a colourful Christmas parade to Enfield Town.
The popular Parade of Light, now in its second year, celebrated with the Mayor of Enfield Councillor Kate Anolue switching the Christmas lights on in The Town.
More than 20 community groups including police cadets, Blaze cheerleaders and Enfield scouts and guides marched in the hour-long procession from Enfield Civic Centre in Silver Street at 5pm.
Enfield Town Centre Manager Mark Rudling, who organised the event with volunteers Kathy Worrall and Tony Corrigan, said: “It was a great success – there were even more people there than last year.
“Everybody played their part and it was really, really good and it was great to see Enfield Town buzzing, it was fantastic.”
A total of £1,216 was raised through donations for the Mayor of Enfield Charitable Trust, the Borough of Enfield Voluntary Association for the Disabled, and the Nightingale Cancer Support Centre.
Fireworks were launched from Enfield Town market to mark the finale of the procession.
