Let down your hair and enjoy family panto Rapunzel by Saint Monica Players.

The musical show, written by Warren McWilliams, follows the story popularised by the Disney film Tangled and will be performed next week by members of the Palmers Green amateur dramatics group.

After being taken by Gothel from her parents at an early age, Rapunzel has spent most of her life in the cold and dark tower in the woods, longing for a glimpse of what lies beyond her prison walls. Will a handsome prince come to save the day? Will Rapunzel’s parents ever see her again? Will Dame Trott ever stop trumping? The only way to find out is to go along.

All the cast are locals with Joanna McWilliams playing the part of Rapunzel, Joe Krajewski her rescuer Quinn, Kate Russel the wicked stepmother Gothel and Terry Aylott returning as the Dame.

Warren says: “The production team, director David Bowman, musical director Stuart Wall and choreographer Paula Bland have put together a fantastic show filled with great songs, jokes and dances so the show’s a treat for people of all ages.”

A signed performance by Louisa Boon takes place on Thursday, January 16 at 7.30pm.

Tickets for the 2.30pm matinees are sold out.

The Players will also be holding a read through for their next show West Side Story at Cannon House on February 3 from 8pm and auditions on February 9.
