Miranda: I finally got my man!

Miranda Hart has said she is delighted to have finally bagged a man, after her surprise wedding in the series finale of Call The Midwife.

The comedienne plays hapless singleton Miranda in her sitcom of the same name, but in Call The Midwife her character nurse Chummy has tied the knot with PC Noakes.

Miranda said: "I've no idea how it will change her, I haven't seen the scripts yet. But it will be lovely to be actually married in a show - I finally get a man."

She added she was delighted about the success of the show, which saw record numbers of viewers tuning in.

Miranda said: "We're just thrilled with the response from the audience, I think the viewing figures speak for themselves and I just hope people like second series, which we're filming this summer, as much."

The comedienne said she'd "love to do more" acting in dramas but is currently busy writing the new series of Miranda, which is about to start filming.

Miranda said: "It's quite a lot of pressure, writing is always the hard part."
