Have you named all 27 stars of the BBC's Children in Need charity single God Only Knows?

Well you can check if you have got them all right below but make sure you don't miss out the main star- Alexandra Palace's old Victorian theatre.

The video has been popping up on television screens across the nation with a plethora of famous faces from the music world singing along to the Beach Boys hit and it has now been revealed that it was filmed at the venue near Muswell Hill- home of the first ever BBC broadcast more than 90 years ago.

It may be the last time the public sees the theatre as it stands as a project is underway to restore and modernise it.

For the video it was brought to life using special effects to create a fantastical and moving world, with a tropical rainforest, a tiger, birds, butterflies and giant bubbles. Viewers are transported high above the orchestra into a balloon-filled celestial sky, before finally being delivered back into the empty theatre, where the song’s creator and star of the performance, Brian Wilson, sings the final line.

The pop star says: "I just feel so incredibly humbled that the BBC would choose God Only Knows to promote their new music initiative.

"All of the artists did such a beautiful job I can’t thank them enough. I’m just honoured that God Only Knows was chosen. God Only Knows is a very special song. An extremely spiritual song and one of the best I’ve ever written."

Music producer Ethan Johns says of creating the music video: "One of the things that interested me most about this project was the idea of bringing together so many different styles of music and as a great opportunity to bring the musical community together in celebration of the thing that we all love.

"To make so much diversity work within one piece of music was quite a challenge. I feel like I’ve taken a 1000 piece puzzle and just thrown it in the air. I’m standing there trying to grab them as they come down and put them into place."

Unsurprisingly bosses at Ally Pally say the project was very "hush hush" and they are excited to see it finally unveiled as it showcases what can be done in the theatre if they are successful in getting a second round of funding to refurbish it.

Duncan Wilson, chief executive for Alexandra Palace says: "This is a fantastic and imaginative use of Alexandra Palace’s Victorian Theatre.

"The BBC Music advertisement is a great curtain raiser for a programme of activity that we are confident will grow over the coming years with the help of key supporters such as the Heritage Lottery Fund."

Plans for the multi-million pound redevelopment of the east end of Ally Pally went on show earlier this month so the public could comment on them ahead of them being submitted to Haringey Council for planning permission later this year.

If approved the East Court will become the main arrival space and focal point for the eastern end of the Palace linking together the Theatre, BBC Studios, Ice Rink and Park.

The Victorian Theatre will be refurbished as an adaptable theatrical space with a levelled floor which can be used for theatre, cinema, live music, conferences and weddings. It's unique atmosphere will be conserved by retaining parts of the ceiling, decorative plaster work and balcony.

The BBC Studios will be turned into space telling the history of popular entertainment at Alexandra Palace, from Victorian theatre through to the birth of television broadcasting to new media technologies of tomorrow.

The single is available to download now in aid of Children in Need.
