As anyone who has seen video art in a gallery will know – the works on show can be incredibly long. In some cases they can also be incredibly boring.

It’s enough to make you dismiss the form outright, but a screening by artist and curator Kerry Baldry could make you think again.

One Minute is a series of more than 80 one-minute films, created by a range of artists including established figures such as Guy Sherwin and Catherine Elwes, comparative newcomers and a multinational roster of those in between.

They range from funny to furious, weird to wonderful, and the joy of it is, if you’re not enjoying the film it’s only 60 seconds or less until the next one.

There are six volumes in total, the first two of which are being shown at the Furtherfield Gallery, Finsbury Park on January 19 and 20 from noon to 4pm.

Volumes 3 and 4 will be screened on January 26 and 27 and Volumes 5 and 6 on February 2 and 3.
