A choir of Olympic volunteers are hoping to sing their way to the top of the charts for charity this Christmas.

Rachelle Michaels, 44, of Conway Close, Stanmore is among the group of London 2012 Games Makers who have released the single I Wish For You The World.

The mum-of-one said: “I love singing and I loved being a Games Maker so I thought this would be a great way of continuing meeting new people and keeping alive the Olympic spirit which filled London earlier in the year.”

Mrs Michaels volunteered at the Games, managing photographers and the press before joining the Games Maker Choir.

The group was approached by singer-songwriter Alistair Griffin who invited them to perform the charity single.

All proceeds from I Wish For You The World will go to the British Olympic Foundation and British Paralympic Association to help aspiring young athletes obtain their Olympic and Paralympic dreams.

Mrs Michaels added: “We want to raise as much money as we can for these charities.

“London 2012 was such a phenomenal experience and I got to meet the competitors, the officials and everyone involved who put in such a lot of effort. Anything we can do to keep that flame alive is great.”

The single has the backing of gold medal winning Olympians and Paralympians as well as Mayor of London Boris Johnson.
