Tottenham Hotspur defender Grant Hall has joined Championship side Birmingham City on loan.

Hall, 22, spent last term on loan at Swindon Town, impressing during 34 outings for the League One side.

Signed from Brighton and Hove Albion in 2012, Hall has yet to feature for Tottenham's first team.

Speaking to Birmingham's website, manager Lee Clark said: "I've got to stress that a big reason we were prepared to do this loan deal was due to the fact that there can be no recall so Grant is effectively our player for the next year.

"I watched him closely at Swindon Town last season and he impressed before picking up a hamstring injury. I know that [Swindon manager] Mark Cooper speaks very highly of him and we were actually in for Grant last season but due to the link between Tottenham and Swindon it didn't work out for us."

The Blues narrowly avoided the drop into League One on the final day of last season, finishing 21st on goal difference.
